Normal Skin Tips & Routine
Welcome to the normal skin club! Even though normal skin doesn't have any specific issues, it still requires proper skincare to look and feel its best. A good skincare routine for normal skin helps maintain your skin's hydration and support its protective barrier.
Signs that you have normal skin:
Doesn’t feel dry or oily
Small pores
Not prone to breakouts
Even color and appearance
The normal skin type is characterized by a radiant complexion. There are very few imperfections, barely visible pores, and no severe sensitivity. It has a smooth texture and the skin's elasticity is good. There are no visible blemishes, flaky areas or greasy patches on the skin.
Normal skin can tolerate most products and it is important to focus on hydration and anti-aging. Ingredients I love for the normal skin type are chemical & physical exfoliants (mandelic acid, lactic acid & physical scrubs) Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, Retinol, and anything hydrating.
Mandelic Acid is derived from almonds and is great for exfoliating, brightening and hydrating. Do not use if you have an almond allergy.
Vitamin C is great for collagen production which helps skin get firmer and tighter, it reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, helps the wound healing process, and is an antioxidant that protects the skin from ultraviolet damage caused by the sun’s free radicals.
Hyaluronic Acid is an ingredient that is known for its ability to hold onto moisture. HA attracts and holds up to 1,000 times its weight in moisture, delivering this hydration to the skin. It leaves the skin looking fuller, smoother and more glowy.
Retinol (Vitamin A derivative) is great for regulating sebum production and minimizing the appearance of pores. Retinol also has amazing anti-aging benefits to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Do not use while pregnant or breastfeeding.
